ST JAMES COLLEGE OF NURSING INSTITUTIONAL ETHICAL COMMITTEE
Reviews and approves research proposals from St James College of Nursing, Also, the proposals for St James Institutional research grants will be reviewed by this committee.
Responsibilities:
- The committee will review all the students who presented their proposals to the committee.
- The committee reviews the proposal and takes care of the ethical principles of research i.e., autonomy, beneficence, non-maleficence, and justice.
- The committee discusses each proposal independently and approval was given in consensus.
- Continuous training programs related to research for faculties and students are to be given related to innovations in nursing research for the students and faculties.
- Motivating the faculty and students for the publication of research work done.
- The committee will keep all the information confidential
- The committee will follow the ethical guidelines of ICMR & KUHS
FUNCTIONS AND OPERATIONS
Meetings
- The committee will hold regular meetings semiannually.
- All the committee members will receive notification of the meeting schedule prior to the meeting.
Members-hierarchy
- There will be one chairperson, one Member Secretary
- Chairperson will be the head of the committee
- Member Secretary will be the guardian of the committee funds and documents
- All other members will be regular committee members with equal ranking.
Minutes
- All the proceedings of the meeting will be recorded in English and in form of minutes
- Member Secretary will be responsible for the coordination, recordings and circulation of the minutes
